Where legacy storage and hardened Linux repositories can fall short

Most Veeam admins refresh their on-prem storage with one of three legacy options: direct-attached storage, deduplication appliances, or a hardened Linux repository.

Direct-Attached Storage

DAS does not offer immutability and is not separated from the Veeam Backup & Replication server. An attacker who gains access to the host can access all data.

Deduplication Appliances
